Meet our Massage Therapy Faculty
Rabia Bellante graduated in 1999 from Big Sky Somatic Institute and in 2002 from Health Works Institute. Since that time she has further specialized in Infant massage, Reiki, Myofascial release, and hospice massage therapies. She is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist as well as a Registered Yoga Alliance Yoga Instructor, maintaining a private practice in Bozeman, Montana, as well as teaching yoga at several facilities. Rabia is a Clinic Supervisor, teaching assistant for hands-on courses, and the Body Awareness 1 and 2 instructor.
Hans Conser, had a full-time massage therapy and bodywork practice in Bozeman for seven years before attending and receiving his degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Excelsior College of Albany, New York and a massage certificate from the International Professional School of Bodywork of Pacific Beach, California. Hans’ continuing education interests include clinical nutrition and Network Spinal Analysis. He has been practicing Chiropractic and Functional Medicine in Bozeman since 1999. Hans teaches Ethics and Physiology/Pathology.
Diane Ferris received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology in 1993 from Montana State University-Bozeman and holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration. She graduated from Health Works Institute in 2007. Diane maintains a private practice called Healing Perspectives, where she practices massage and provides intuitive energy sessions. She is currently continuing her education in Myofascial Release and the energy modalities. In addition to teaching at Health Works, Diane holds classes for the general public in developing intuition. Diane teaches Integration.
Dr. Christine Foskett is a chiropractor in private practice in Bozeman. Her formal education began at The University of Western Ontario, Canada where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating cum laude in 2005. Dr. Foskett obtained certification in Applied Kinesiology (AK) in 2006. She is currently pursuing advanced training in this discipline while continuing to take courses in nutrition, homeopathy, vitamins and herbs. Dr. Foskett enjoys teaching and educating patients daily and enjoys helping massage therapy students grow and flourish in their educational pursuits as an Anatomy teacher.
MaryLee Harrer is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Leadership with an emphasis in Outdoor Education and Dance from Northern Arizona University in 1981. She has taken physical therapy prerequisite courses to further her education, and she has completed numerous myofascial release training programs and a clinical internship with John Barnes, P.T. She has taken additional seminars in craniosacral therapy, neuromuscular therapy, Reiki, energy integration, and Touch for Health. MaryLee teaches Neuromuscular Therapy and Trigger Point Massage.
Linda Holenstein is a 1988 graduate of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy, and she is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business Management. Linda has studied animal training in the U.S. and England. She works with animals as a touch therapist and a trainer, and she maintains a private practice in massage therapy for humans. Linda makes education a discovery process that requires critical thinking abilities and continually improving palpation skills. She teaches Hydrotherapy and Chair Massage.
Nicole Kay was awarded an athletic scholarship by the University of Washington, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. She graduated from Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle and served as an instructor at the Brenneke School for five years. Nicole is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, a certified National Clinical Sports Massage Therapist, and a member of the National Sports Massage Team. While in Seattle, Nicole worked with the Seattle Sonics and the Seattle Storm professional basketball teams. As a volunteer for the Montana Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association, she assisted in the successful effort to enact a massage licensure law in 2009. Nicole teaches Swedish Massage and Client Assessment and Technique Integration
Brendan Kelly received his Master’s Degree in Acupuncture in 2004 from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Florida and his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 1992 from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. He is co-founder and co-owner of Great Turning Healing Center, with offices in Putney, Vermont and Bozeman, Montana, where he practices acupuncture and western and Chinese herbal medicine. He is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Classical Chinese Medicine with the American University of Complementary Medicine. He teaches Theory of Asian Medicine and Asian Bodywork Techniques.
Tamara Leach is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and she is a 1996 graduate of Carrie’s Kadesh School of Massage Practice and Theory in South Dakota. Tamara is a graduate of the Sahaj School of Energy Healing, has completed pre-med courses at Montana State University, and has taken continuing education in craniosacral therapy, neuromuscular and myofascial release therapies, and ortho-bionomy, Tamara focuses on articulating and conveying to students a deep understanding of the inner workings of the whole person--mind, body and spirit. She enjoys adding humor and a playful manner to the classroom environment. Tamara teaches Swedish Massage, Integration, and supervises the Student Clinic.
Amanda Martin attended Metropolitan State College of Denver, where she enjoyed courses in communication and theater. She graduated from the massage therapy program at Health Works Institute in 2007. In her private practice in
Sherri Martinez received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Exercise Science in 1996 and a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy in 1999 from the College of St. Catherine in Minnesota. She is a graduate of the School of Sahaj Energy Healing in Bozeman and has received continuing education in Feldenkrais, Angelic Healing, Craniosacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Motor Learning, Bodytalk, and Continuum Movement. Sherri maintains a private practice specializing in craniosacral therapy and energy healing. Sherri teaches Energetics and Nutrition.
David D.C. Nix is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Government in 1993 from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. He received his personal trainer certification from the American College of Sports Medicine in 2002, and he graduated from Health Works Institute in 2004. He maintains a personal training and massage therapy practice at the Zombro Physical Therapy office in Bozeman. His continuing education has included Reiki and Thai massage. He loves trail running, photography and dancing. David teaches Ethics.
Matthew Parks completed his Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Development from Montana State University-Bozeman in 1998 and graduated from Health Works Institute in 2008. He is certified as a Level 1 USA Triathlon coach and holds an advanced specialization as a Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Matthew helps clients enhance their health, sport, and fitness lifestyles and maintains a private practice in massage therapy. He enjoys helping others develop professionally. He practices yoga, Pilates, and other modalities to help maintain his health and vitality. Matt teaches Nutrition, and Anatomy.

Lara Schulz is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography with a minor in Spanish from Montana State University-Bozeman in 1999, and she graduated from Health Works Institute in 2002. Lara maintains a private practice in Bozeman. Serving as a teacher has been a primary source of fulfillment in her work life. Continuing education with John Barnes in Myofascial Release, and in reflexology, lymphatic facilitation, profound neutral and Reiki mastery provides her with the breadth to serve her diverse clientele. Lara teaches Myofascial Release.
Paul Segerston specializes in clinical massage for acute and chronic pain, as well as sports massage, working with recreational athletes and world champions. In Texas, he served as massage therapist for Ballet Austin and the state women’s track team. Paul received his Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida and was a women’s track coach at the University of Florida, Auburn University, and the University of Texas. An avid runner, Paul enjoys his dogs, fly fishing, and other outdoor sports. Paulteaches Sports Massage and Anatomy Lab.
Rénee Swinson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Montana State University. She graduated from Health Works Institute in 2002 and has received continuing education in Lomi Lomi Massage, Reflexology, Lymphatic Drainage, and Sports and Orthopedic Massage. She is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and she maintains a private practice in massage therapy, focusing on clients with sports and occupational injuries and disabilities. Renee teaches Myofascial Release.
Dr. Amy Thomas is a chiropractic physician, having graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri with both a Doctoral Degree and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. Before attending chiropractic school, Dr. Amy earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with an American Indian Studies minor from the University of Washington in Seattle. In 2005, she opened Thomas Family Chiropractic, Inc. with her husband, Dr. Neil Thomas, in Bozeman. Dr. Amy specializes in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care. She loves the outdoors, runs 10Ks and her winter hobby is Bikram Yoga.
Lou Walters, ND is a naturopathic physician at The Source Wellness Center in Bozeman. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in biology from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania and his medical training from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. He is certified in Applied Kinesiology and has received advanced training in homeopathy and biotherapeutic drainage. Dr. Lou teaches the Physiology and Pathology course. NEW STAFF:
Ginny Watts received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development in 1980, and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling in 1994 from Montana State University, Bozeman. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in private practice in Belgrade, Montana. Ginny has a second career as founder, Artistic Director and Lead Choreographer for the Caravan of Dreams World Dance Troupe and has spent over 20 years performing and teaching world dance from Hawaii to Massachusetts. She is currently completing a manuscript on world dance as a medium for spiritual practice. Ginny teaches Body Awareness.
